You forgot the fact that Shattenkirk is on the books next season as well, when tampa needs the cap space even more

Definitely not getting that for Smith. Might be a little aggressive on vesey and Namestnikov as much as I’d love those returns. Shatty deal is interesting but only saves Tampa 2.5 million and he has an extra year compared to Callahan

True but they need to sign Point this year and it puts them in a position to Buyout Shatty next year with only a minimal 2 year cap penalty

If there was some way to move Shatty and get the Cally dump and also take on Johnson. I think the rangers could use him as a 2c, but the 5 years left is to long.

Ristolainen to the Lightning doesn't make any sense. They already have Hedman and Sergachev on the point in PP, and Ristolainen is the only thing he excels at doing.
I'd gladly prefer having a Hedman - Sergachev first pair (as Sergachev excels on the right side) than committing to a 5.4M contract for an overrated Dman whose defensive qualities are awful

On the flip side they could buyout Callahan this year for a minimal 2 year penalty and not have to have the extra year of dead cap
