Edmonton doesn't need Zaitsev, They'd consider a deal for brown though also the colorado trade is horribly lop-sided in favor of TOR. Kadri is solid but he isnt worth that much

Maybe take Timmins out of the deal, I guess?

Kadri is worth the first OR Jost, maybe.

First two trades heavily favour the Leafs. Last two trades, rather keep Marleau than trade Liljergren. and a one year rental isn't worth a first 2019/20. But surprisingly cap compliant, and might be a better team than last year.

A guy with a very uninspiring 49pts in 141 career regular season games isn't about to land a proven 2C that has scored 30 goals multiple times and is locked into a good contract for a few more years all by himself. Even if he was picked higher in the draft than he should have been.

Jost probably doesn't hurt his team in the playoffs like Kadri tho

If Kevin Hayes just signed at 7.14 AAV which is ridiculous than yes Kadri is absolutely worth the package - Duchesne is now an easy 9 million - so who's the next best C available via FA? With Kadri's production and 4.5 x 3 teams will be throwing 1sts and then some at the leafs
    I4evrblue liked this.

I take 2 playoff games from Naz over Tyson "at least theres a warm body on the bench" Jost every single year wink

exactly why the leafs have choked the past 2 years tears of joy
    Jost at 21>Kadri at 21
    Jost at 800k>Kadri at 4.5m

Yeah it had nothing to do with their defense, was all Naz.
And no, Jost isn't better than Naz was at 21, Jost was brought in too early and it's only hurt him. Maybe he figures it out someday, maybe not, but I wouldn't put much value in a 26pt guy.

Jost is better than Naz at 21, stats back that up.
I HATE the leafs, but with Naz healthy both recent playoff series' I'd bet on the leafs taking both series.

I bet on them without Naz
Jake Gardiner and the rest of the Leafs defense had other plans
Also, the only reason the stats back it up is because Jost was in the NHL and Naz was just breaking in. Jost shouldn't have been there though, he should have been in the minors honing his craft. Maybe he'd be a better player today for it, who knows. Anyway, here we are talking about a player that has never scored 30pts in the NHL being worth more than a guy that has scored 30 goals twice and is still in his prime playing years as if it's a serious discussion. If you think Jost gets Kadri then, simply put, I respectfully disagree and believe you must be biased (not an insult, we all are in some ways)

Sorry Kadri is not worth the #4 by itself let alone adding in Jost who's young with potential and speed unless you mean the #16 but even then I don't see kadri catching a 1st rounder since him playing on the 3rd line has hurt his stock

Definitely the #16, not #4. It has, but I wonder if teams will look at 30 goals in a 2nd line role the year prior and feel he will get back to that with top 6 minutes.

Idk, he had unusually high shooting %'s those two years and every other year he struggles to put up 20G's. I don't think a 1st round pick and a possible stud in Jost for a guy that might get you 20G's and roughly 50 points is worth it. Toronto would have to sweeten the deal cause his value isn't nearly as high as it was this time last year.
