Ya I was adamantly against the Nylander deal for a very long time, but if he returns to form next year then it could turn out to be the most team friendly deal of all 3 of the young guys

Kucherov got 11.95% of cap in 2018 when he put up 100pts.

Marner 11.95% of next years 83m cap would equate to 9.9M. Rough estimate due to the fact that the cap may not be 83m and seeing as Kuch got a *STAGGERING* 6 more pts. Tell me how that works?

Marners first 3 years he's outscored Kuch's first 4 years.. I don't think he's getting 11+ but I think he's going after 10M 100% and I think the leafs will be forced to pay him that TBH.

Yes he did out score Kuch's first few years, but Kuch wasn't paid 8@9.5 after those years. He was given 3@6.53% which would be 3@5 419 900 for Marner. Factor in that Marner out produce Kuch, but also that league scoring is up and he should maybe get 3@6-6.5 going directly off this comparable. Now if you add the equivalent of Matthews year/year savings based off his reported 5@13.8, then you get Marner at 6@8.7, and that is being quite generous saying his years are worth the same as AM.

Yes I know that, but the year Kuch signed his big deal and the years 2 prior to that (3 year span which is how long Marner has been in the league) he's outscored Marner by less than 30pts.
That includes Kuch not being a rookie and having 1-2 years NHL exp... not to mention also he most likely took less because of Florida taxes..

Now in terms of value compared to Matthews, Matthews has 205 career pts in 212 games, Marner 241gp to 224pts.
.96ppg Matthews to .93 for Marner. but, take into consideration Marners played almost 30 more games, been more productive in playoffs, healthier, played more mins last year, led the team in scoring the last 2 years, can play PK, etc etc. I think if Matthews is worth 11.6m Marner is not worth a whole 2m less.. comparing the 2 I'd say Marner is worth 10.5 max and 10 would be fair

ahh, but now you're comparing apples to oranges and inviting Kuch's multiple top notch seasons into the mix. This is also just a reminder that points are not the only metric used and that many people over value them on CF (and online in general).
In terms of Matthews:
Since entering the league Auston Matthews is:

-1st in EV goals with 83 (4th in all sits)
-1st in EV and All Situations goals/60
-5th in EV points/60 (9th in All Sits)
-2nd in EV primary points/60 (7th in All Sits)

Auston Matthews is absolutely not a comparable for Marner. Marner is extremely overrated (not to say he is bad) and somehow, Matthews is underrated.

Marner has not been more productive in the playoffs. 1 primary EV point this year (the part of his game that everyone says should get him paid). AM has 5 GOALS. Hell Nylander has 3 EV points. Marner's defense is badly overrated as a part of his game.
