After that move, it's going to be nearly impossible for you guys to re-sign Domi and Mete.

WPG is gladly going to offer sheet one of them.

I'm not saying this scenario is likely at all, but with Poehling, Suzuki and maybe one of the Finns (Ylonen, Ikonen) getting closer to the NHL, Shaw and Byron become expandable. The year after would be a much bigger challenge though with Danault, Gallagher, KK and Poehling.

Anyway, I don't see that happening but if somehow we get close to the cap this year, 20-21 is not going to be a big issue but 21-22 will be.

Would like to keep Shaw's grit but can definitely look to move him and Byron for cap space, fine with having to get rid of both. Also think after this year you can entertain trading Danault for additional cap space if needed with one year of seasoning for Poehling you have Domi, KK and Poehling as top 3 C - also Suzuki if keep him there and not the wing, have solid group of young C

Also don't think Berg let's them get to that point and extends them before offer sheets can be put out

You only have $1,25M + the cap raise which is probably around $3,5M left in cap space, which equals to less than $5M left with no big contracts expiring. With the contracts being like they've been lately, if Domi scores another 70+ point season, he's gonna cost around $9,5M in 2020-21. Mete will probably accept a $3-4M contract. Domi and Mete are gonna cost the north of $13M.

You're pretty much forced to move two or three of Tatar, Shaw, Byron or Petry...

Not that I don't like Drouin, but with Hayes now making >$7M, I see Philly just bringing up a winger and keeping Ghost. He's got a $4.5M cap hit, and having a low cap hit just became rare on this team LOL

Cap next year probably goes to $83 mil.. That's 11.29 mil. Trade Byron you have 14.69 mil to play with. Domi has another similar season and you give him 9.5 you still have 5.2 left. I don't think Mete get 3-4 mil at this point unless he just goes off this year. You bridge him and Juulsen at 1.75-2.5. If you need more you have Shaw and Danault you can move out for more room

You're talking about the next season, the 2019-20 season. I was talking about 2020-21. When Domi's deal expires.

Look at the years.......click on "long term outlook" and cap space...
