Does a trade become more likely ?

I think Hayes was an overpay, and also Karlsson is an RFA, so he has less leverage. I still see him between $6.5-$7.5 M. A trade of Haula or Eakin does look more likely tho.

Overpaid or not his agent will use Hayes contract ! I'll be surpised if he signed under 7m. But good point he is not an UFA

Slightly different circumstances though obviously.

-He's an RFA
-He was given a chance by Vegas and probably wants to stay there more than Hayes wanted to sign in Philly originally.
-Vegas has no state and city tax.
- Vegas has a everything going for them. Good team. Growing fanbase. Nice weather. etc etc

If I'm Karlsson I would gladly take a pay cut to stay. 7M is still 7M.

Karlsson has arbitration rights...it might not be up to VGK or Karlsson at this point.
