Not much changed 81 5 cap

Description
I don’t think Ritchie will get a QO.

Honka could be traded to a cap strapped team.

Nichuskin could be bought out. 2.95 - .7 = 2.25 savings. Basically, do they think 2.25 could be spent on a better player.

I think Polak was re-signed because of his durability and size. If Johns is good to go, I have to question if he will play with Miro. Last year I would have slated him as a 5-6. I really don’t see Miro - Polak as the mid pair.
Miro - Klingberg
Lindell - Johns
Oleksiak/Other - Polak

All extra cap should be used towards forwards unless Johns is a no go. So roughly 4 million without Nichushkin or 2.25 with Nichushkin.

If a roster player (let’s say Comeau due to fan popularity) was traded to a cap strapped team, a roster player at $6mm could come back. Dallas could still help a team needing to make a move. The net savings for the other club would probably only hover around $4mm. This value is represented only if Nichushkin is bought out or traded.

Essentially, not much would change if a trade couldn’t be made. Though I do believe that a trade could be made to help with scoring.

Interesting, I like the conservative approach. Bottom six could be an issue, but the top-6 looks solid, as does the d-core.

You really think Gurianov breaks through this year? Dude was a beast for me in NHL 18 lol so i'm curious to see how he does in real life

Guri and Hintz played on a line together in Austin. I don’t know if this would work, but it’s plausible that they could run with it.

3rd line is what we ran with last year.

4th line wouldn’t be to bad if the team follows the team defense approach from last year.

I’m more worried about injuries with the forwards. I’m not sure if the forward depth is ready to step up to the big leagues for extended stretches.

This is a good expectation of what to expect without some any moves. You can see how the Cogs and Comeau contracts likely limit bottom six additions.

It’s plausible that a club that needs to move a player for cap concerns might take on Cogliano or Comeau. Stars still have cap to take on a player. Also, if Zuccarello is exploring the Market, Maybe Nill makes a deal for two forwards while moving one of them just to insure the team gets better.

I wonder if Pavelski could be an option if Zuccarello walks.
