Hamburglar and no Pavs

Created by: DouglasMurr
Team: 2019-20 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. I love pokey as much as anyone, but I just don't see how we can make it work... : (

2. Jumbo gets performance bonuses which can be around $6 mil (7.5% of cap) because hes 35+ ie play 70 games $1mil, score 30 points $1mil, playoffs $1mil, etc.

3. Banker still has a lot to prove for me, here's kind of a prove it contract (maybe even make it a 1 year deal), his numbers are boosted by Jumbo and PP, plus lots of penalties and sloppy play. HE COULD BE A STUD THOUGH

4. Seems to be a fair bridge deal to me for Timo

5. As others have stated CHI could use the melk man PK specialist and might take him for the discounted 4th rounder if Dell is packaged even though they already have a solid backup

6. Am I missing something with Chiasson? I've always liked him, and I think he would thrive in front of the net with Jumbo behind it. Might he get offered more after putting up 20 goals last season?

7. Love me some Eric Fehr. Solid dude on the ice and in the dressing room; big body. I think we missed him last year even though he dealt with some injuries

8. Hamburglar just because it's fun, or one of the Cuda guys

9. Donny needs to prove consistency

10. DiSimone and Middleton have been the top pairing for the Cuda, healthy competition for those 5, 6 spots with Simek. I think you have to try burns with pickles again, and Dillon is playing his best hockey with Karl.

11. Could we trade Ryan's signing rights for a low pick? Heed walks.

12. Gus goes : ( no $$

There was a report or tweet this morning that said that Jumbo wanted to come back, and would pretty much play for whatever was left for SJS to give him. So he might be making vet min next season.

I think that Pavelski would likely take a pay cut to ride it out with the Sharks, and I think another team would be making a bad call to give him more than $7M, at his age.

I know about Jumbo, but 1.25 just looks better on paper, but ok. Pay him $700,000 that's an extra $500K to play with.

With pavs, well, a pay cut would just be NOT getting a raise so he stays at 6mil. Ok. Then who is out? Probably would have to trade Banker's rights which I might also be okay with but you can't have both and still fill 23 man roster. That's what it comes down to in my eyes. Pavelski or Labanc.
