Maybe they take a cap dump or 2

Created by: Talking_Senators

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Vegas needs cap relief, Clarkson is apparently being shopped and Holden's cap needs to come off the books. Harpur could be the 7th D for Vegas.

It's going to take a significant asset for someone to take on that Johnson contract. A late 1st in a weaker draft should do it. Pittsburgh also get a LHD who can play on the bottom pair. Holden's contract expires after this season.

Anaheim could use a top 4 RHD. Ceci could be a good 2nd pairing guy. He's playing a shutdownrole in Ottawa and can't handle being the #1 guy. Needs a change of scenery. Sprong is a victim of a deep forward group in Anaheim with a few prospects that are close. They can afford to deal him.

Awesome arguments. Don't comment on something if you can't back it up, simple.

The Vegas trade makes no sense for Vegas. Don't need to do it.

No way pit gives up their 1st rounder for Nick Holden. Even if it does get them out of Johnson's contract. No way.

Ottawa could get a much better return for codi ceci than Daniel sprong. Guy is looking like a bust. A change of scenery already didn't help him and going to a dumpster fire Ottawa team isn't going to turn that around.

Vegas are already over the projected cap so yes this would make sense.

I get your point but it's going to take something to get out of that contract. Pittsburgh are most likely going to get burned by the cap next year with Murray and such needing extensions. Maybe they trade Kessel idk. They could also keep Johnson, i'm just playing around with ideas.

Ceci is very meh. Don't think he fetches more than a 2nd. I'll take a chance on Sprong, he's showed some upside, just hasn't played very much. There's a lot of opportunity in Ottawa, especially on the RW. Plus Ottawa get a 3rd in the trade.
