Johnny hockey close to home

Created by: Jwirb122

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Rumors are Johnny wants to finish his career closer to home. He played at BC he is from NJ now I don’t think this trade would ever happen seeing he has 3 years left and they could win a cup at this time but it’s fun to think about. Could Boston land him before his next contract? We send them a good top 6 in Heinen a good prospect in kuhlman and Vaakanainen and we give them backes for money purposes who has 2 years LESS than Neal

Bakes for Neal is an even swap. Rest is an overpay for a LW they don’t need. No thanks. And Calgary declines anyway.

Not even close...… Neal is one year removed from being a contributing member of a Stanley cup run with 44 points in a league with scoring at a premium (Had a down year coming off hand surgery). Backes was a healthy scratch for most of the bruins cup run.... how is that eve n

need to pay McAvoy at least 1-2 mill more even on a bridge

Didn't Gaudreau score like 99 points this year? Is that something we're all just scoffing at because he has a bad playoffs? flushed cheeks

Gaudreau isn't going anywhere and chances are any offer that would tempt them to accept would be an absolute over pay in the eyes of the team that offers.

Didn’t forget at all guy is a stud. Just read an article that he wouldn’t be resigning after this contract so I wanted to kick the tires around. Get people talking

Because Backes you only have to put up with 1 more year and then buyout. Neal contract is bad for 4 more years.

Neal has the opportunity to bounce back, still a very good goal scorer so I think there is value for him and shouldn't be a cap dump to "even out backs"

There is a reason Vegas let him go with no effort to re-sign him. The line he was on in Vegas, gave up the most goals of any 2nd line in the NHL that year. He was a big reason why. Slow, mediocre production, defensive liabilty, long term bad contract. No thanks. I’d rather move Backes for nothing or buy him out next year.
