No this not an improvement. Lindberg will be with the Marlies. Where are Hyman, Soshinov, Brown, Leivo and Corrado, who are likely to earn spots on the Leafs.
An assumption that Robidas can be LTIR all season. Why would the Leafs help the Wings for so little and you don't even have Frk on the team. Marner not on team?
Michalek has a NMC. Do you think this is value for Pens....they save 1.7m on goalie contract, but Percy....he's not an NHLer. Yikes.

I agree with most of this. Changes I would make would be placing Marner in the lineup, moving Bozak at the draft to make way for Nylander on the 3rd line Center, and not taking on datsyuks contract. Despite it only being 1 more year, we need to make improvements now to avoid ending up like the oilers who are in a constant rebuild forever.

Thanks for the feedback. Of course it's a improvement, because the plaayers in a rebuild most times unconditionally get better. I missed the NMC on Michalek, that was dumb. I certainly think the Fleury trade is fair, because the Penguins have to get rid of Fleury, a situation with Murray as the starter and Fleury as a backup would eventually be poison in the locker room. Additionally, Pittsburgh save Fleurys full 5.75 Million once Bernier is a UFA. Stuart Percy has a lot of upside and showed in the preaseason how good he could be one day. That's great asset management in terms of money (cap), chemistry and prospects.

The young guns you mentioned will be brought up, when the 1-year contract guys get flipped at the deadline.

I think you should get a little bit off your high horses with your attitude, it's not quite pleasent.

Thanks for your comments, i appreciate your thoughts truly. I thought about most of this, but i figured, when you can get a good prospect for taking one year of a bad contract, when you're anyway nowhere near of being a contender, you should go for it. With Marner i think you should handle him like Nylander the year before, because he is like one year behind in his development. So you could get a good new prospect in step by step every year, in order to not be a bunch of inexperienced rookies and get pushed around.

Genoni: Actually I don't mind Bernier to the Pens, but the sweetener for the Leafs would have to more than Percy. Percy and Harrington have each had three years of AHL hockey and have not shown they are top AHLers and certainly not NHLers. Looking at the Leafs 15 or 16 Dmen pros next I doubt if Percy and Harrington are even resigned by the Leafs.
Hyman and Soshivov are 23 years old, so it's like they are inexperienced kids and by their performance last season with the Leafs and Marlies, just thinking it would be wrong to hold them down in the minors so hopefully you can make a flip for a few draft picks, by signing veterans. It's sends back vibes in your organization when your own qualified players aren't allow to progress, or get paid at the NHL level.
Marner a tricky situation...He can only play in the NHL or junior. Unlike European status players such as Nylander, Kapanen and even Matthews who can be in the AHL or NHL despite been junior age. (when they were junior age).
Michalek: Nothing is written down with NMC. But this is the deal he made with Lou when he agreed to traded to the Leafs when he had a NTC. I expect he will ask the Leafs to move him closer to the contender at the TDL.

It has been reported in detroit that they are willing to package pulkinen or jurco to get rid of datsyuks contract. Not only is frk behind both those two on the depth chart but toronto also has to give up a mid round draft pick?

Regarding the fleury trade, he is definately an upgrade skillwise over bernier but if you think that he would be a cancer for pittsburgh, does having that in the leafs locker room help? Maybe Make it more interesting, pittsburgh sends draft picks to toronto and toronto eats some of berniers salary.

Both det and pitts are looking for cap relief, it should come at a greater cost imo.
