I really like Puljujarvi but I say call his bluff and send him to Europe

Created by: Smokingun71
Team: 2019-20 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2019
Published: Jun. 19, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We will get nothing in return for Puljujarvi right now so send him back to Europe and hopefully he has an outstanding season and pushes up his trade value. That and it pisses me off that his agent is basically tying the Oilers hands now with going public with his demands. No GM will offer anything of value now.

I get the thought process, but if he goes to Europe and finds success, there's a good chance he never comes back. Getting a roster player and mid round pick is getting nothing for the sake of pride.

Yup, QO him and send him away. He needs a year for development anyhow and can't play in the AHL without clearing waivers, so let it be so.

Oh I get that and believe me I agree that the Oilers did him no favours but Puljujarvi needs to take some responsibility as well. He looked disinterested most of the time and rumours in Edmonton had it that he was lazy, thought too highly of himself and wouldn’t listen to coaching

Puljujarvi for Fabbri? both players have stagnated. Fabbri has the more polished NHL resume, but battled significant injury.

I don’t mind the idea of trading him for another underachieving player but not Fabbri, he’s a walking bandaid. The would trade him for JEE straight up.
