I wish but col wpg trades are unrealistic and I would rather have Kapanen than brown

that edmonton trade is brutal for the rangers. puljujarvi demanded a trade already, he is very close to bust status, and kreider is a top 6 winger that's a lock for 25+ goals a year (or at least that pace)

the rumored price was a 3rd line forward.. so Vesey or Namestnikov should do the trick

Thanks for the feedback. Here's my thoughts:

Kreider has one year left to UFA status and, as a guy who has surpassed 25 goals twice, isn't a lock. Assumption is Rangers know they are losing him (Panarin and Kakko both play his position) and Edmonton has been clear that they aren't moving JP for peanuts. Seems like a reasonable bet.

Carter is 1.5 million/year cheaper than Shattenkirk, and gets rid of a guy who will need to be protected in the expansion draft (which is a big deal).

Everyone would rather have Kappanen than Brown. He's also way more expensive to acquire. Rumor for Brown was Matt Benning out of Edmonton, so Anthony DeAngelo seems to be a fair take.

Assumption with Winnipeg is that they are dumb... but also that they aren't going to retain Beaulieu and have a history of liking players like Belesky, who only has 1 year left anyway. If that trade doesn't go through we're talking about a 6/7 dman and 4th line winger so it doens't really impact much either way.

Carolina needs offense. Vessey's numbers the last 2 years put him solidly in their top 6 forwards and he is the right age for their core. 2nd and 4th seems like a reasonable price for that, but whether it's some slight difference in the picks doesn't really change the outcome.

If Kreider is going to EDM, you start the conversation with Puljujarvi and their 1st. Modify from there.

I'd rather have Tony D than Brown. DeAngelo is trending in the right direction. Could be a solid 40+ point Dman.

Remove the LAK trade.

Vesey probably gets a single 3rd from most teams. I'd rather use him to get Puljujarvi instead of a deal involving Kreider.

WPG deal is whatever. Maybe Beaulieu is a decent presence in Hartford.

I don't think CBJ gets rid of Anderson.

A 21 year old 4th overall pick and the 8th overall pick for 1 year of UFA forward that scores 25 goals is a very steep price. I like Kreider but he's a 1 year rental.

Removing the LAK trade means you protect Shattenkirk next summer in the expansion draft, because you have to.

WPG deal is a 4th liner who is maybe good enough for 3rd line in a pinch for a 6/7 youngish Dman. Not a big deal either way.

DeAngelo deal isn't critical.
