Helps that you only spend 1,5M for 2 goalies.

Not sure how Philly does it in 2020.

8 mil for provorov isn't that ridiculous. But I agree with what you're saying here. That Hayes deal can go wrong in so many different ways

RFAs always make less since they have less leverage. If qualified they are pretty much staying with that team or they miss out on at least a year of playing if not signed before Dec 1.

That was the old way, young RFA’s are getting paid now.

Now it's really up to gm's to negotiate what that player is worth to the team for rfa's, they should be able to keep them down lower and hopefully that gets these contracts back under control cause theres gonna be a few teams in free agency this year that get burned.

Provorov is the only one of the Flyers RFAs is could see getting paid. Konecny is probably getting a bridge deal and Sanheim has one full year in the NHL.

Braun and Niskanen should be off the books. My guess is Hart takes a bridge deal though.

The problem is lack of movement. Most teams are maxed out with bad terms. Therefore you have to overpay on July 1st, and the non-desired markets pay an extra 25%, usually for washed up players. Nasty cycle. Even though there are more buyouts recently, bad terms/players/situations should be in play more often for one another. Chicken strip league now, owners like money and GMs are afraid of losing their nice paycheques. You build your team in the summer then you're stuck with it for the year. Try and fix in season, and other teams are only offering leftovers. The new trick is the "Magic Gorton sell off". If you're out, sell! Figure out early on who is a keeper and who won't fit in wallet or on ice. In this case, Hayes will impress with reach, patience and beautiful dishes, yet will frustrate with lethargic effort, tissue paper soft play and long face gazes. He's worth 5x5.8m, most likely you will not enjoy the last 3 years. Ps get out of our way, my NYR are shooting the playoffs baby wink

Hi.
I didn't know one of the Flyers RFAs scored over 90 points in a contract year and has out scored their teammate that just got paid 11.634M 2 out of their 3 years in the league. Good day sir.

Something is going to have to give, @Bcarlo25 made a good point in a different thread that there may be changes to the new cba. Something to help teams re sign their RFA’s. He made a couple of suggestions. I think removing or replacing the offersheet might be the key. Maybe that combined with shortening the rfa period could work well. 25 or 26 ufa and no offersheets seems like it may address problems on both sides.

I also guess we should wait and see what Panarin and Marner get to see if UFAs will continue to make more than RFAs.

On the other hand, is this what owners want? Rfa money to go up and ufa money to go down. For years we’ve seen rfas get robbed and ufas sign practically exclusively bad contracts. It seems like players got paid for what they had done, not what they were going to do. Maybe this changing market corrects that, and the owners are okay with it? Wait a minute Kevin Hayes just got 50 million dollars. Never mind.

Nah that is Fenton.

Fenton = Chiarelli (trades) Fletcher = Chiarelli (contracts)

If we merge them together we would get a Super Chiarelli
