Description
It's not that great...
But the trade with WPG... they need to unload lots of money now, with Laine and Connor, so the Habs take on Perreault.
The big salary hike for the Habs will be in 2 years, which is when Perreault's contract ends.
Also, they have a guarantee 15th pick overall.

Well, I'm surprised it comes down to Charlie Lindgren. I would remove Lindgren and insert a 4th rounder for 2021 - which I think is the same value.

you dont need him but Lindgren's more then an AHL goalie .
he had success at the NHL level , more then Niemi even
he's in the AHL because the former and only consecutive reigning NCAA Goaltender of the Year played in the NCAA a league without road trips that doesnt develop a Goalie's Stamina for the workload of the NHL .

after about 10 game Lindgren started to show he was tired and out of shape so we left him in the AHL full time to remedy that calling up Mcniven and Fucale over the past 2-3 seasons to allow him to develop .

That being said Lindgren signed with MTL because he grew up a Roy fan idolizing MTL Goaltending history to the point by 15 he was taking French as a 2nd language in Minnisotta a State that doesnt offer the class as a standard . he worked his ass off even playing for the NCAA team who has close ties with MTL stopping just short of calling themselves the St Cloud Canadiens as they sport our Color's , Crest and ''no excuses'' mantra. He re-signed here sighting '' playing behind Carey Price is a once in a lifetime chance ''

i dont see him going anywhere and being happy about it given his quest for the NHL was a Singular vision compared to his Brother a Top US Defense Prospect for NYR .(their mom points this out on Habs tv's segment with Hockey Moms from when he re-signed with MTL)

but even though you undercut Lindgren , you are right the last thing PHI needs is another prospect in Net.
what they need is a Bobrovsky ironically enough lol

they set a league record for most goalies used last year
unless you can offer them a Starter with a Vezina offering them a goalie hits on a soar subject :P

for Ghost though i think you're looking at Shaw ,Fleury, and two 2nd's

i just dont see anyone giving up a first unless its the crown piece in the Ghost trade .
something like a 1st in 2019 , 2nd in 2020 and Hudon or Vejdemo . (top AHL guys who have potential to be bottom 6 NHL call ups or 13th forward but not likely to earn a starter spot on a contender . )

but that 1st in 2019 holds alot of value this year as its the first time since 2003 the talent from 4th-9th and 10th -19th are so close talent wise . the fact that this draft also has a 10 + NCAA bound prospects many coming off great years also throws the top 10 this year way out of wack . (considering Dach was almost guaranteed to be picked top 5 to start the season and now its looking like he could slip out of the 2nd round because so much talent from europe to NCAA stepped up more then just the 2-3 prospects they producer for an average 1st rouned )

given all the Quality RD in the 10th-15th pick positions PHI would be smartest to just take picks and a Prospect they can build value in and flip for a greater return. taking Shaw ,Fleury and two 2nd's also address's their Needs for a RD while also giving them two top 50 picks and Shaw to add immediate impact.

Hagg's a far better Value . 8th in the NHL in hits with 258 and has over 150 Blocks shots (double digit numbers more then the next guys in the top 10 for hits )
out of those top 10 hitters Hagg played the 2nd most minutes over the season behind only Adam Larsson of EDM .

Sounds like you appreciate his “skill set.” What will you give us for Hagg?

honestly i see value in him but only if its a good value for all involved.
in this case what works for MTL could work in PHI favor
Fleury(A prospect) and a 3rd or Mccarron or Hudon(B Prospect) and a 2nd

i got no problem giving up a 2nd year Pro RHD with potential to be a top 4 NHL D .but the highest pick i could give is a 3rd .

if you ask PHI fans though these days you'll swear a 4th is to much they way they trash this poor guy . at 24 the Swede fits our system and we'd love to have him (i know Claude would )

You're right the Bob trade hurt the franchise and put them back years. Lingren isn't the only reason the deal wouldn't get done but since every Habs fan has suggested shaw and juulsen I figured I didn't need to explain that isn't enough
