The NHL draft is tomorrow. Give me a bold prediction for the draft (or multiple). I'll make some tomorrow once i've made my mock draft.

Does this have anything to do with me not joining your mock draft game?

1) Habs don’t take Zadina
2) Wahlstrom goes ahead of Tkachuk
3) islanders trade one of their picks
4) Kotaniemi breaks into the top 8
5) leafs take one of Sandin, Samuelson or McIsaac

This was last year. You got 3 right but they weren't that bold. 2 were kinda bold but not Kotkaniemi in the top 8. That wasn't at all bold.

Last year:

1. Both picks 2 and 3 are traded in totally different deals.
2. Subban is not traded but Josi is.
3. Gary Bettman forgets to show up at the draft.
4. Girardi is traded for McDavid.
5. I get all of these predictions wrong.

I think I got the last prediction right, unless that prediction includes itself.

Edit: Sticking Out Tongue

1. Seider goes in the top 15
2. Either Krebs or Boldy falls out of the top 13
3. #KnighttotheKnights
4. Newhook in the top 10
5. Washington takes either Brink, Dorofeyev or Afanasyev (more wishful thinking on my end than a prediction, but f it)

Both BUF and EDM will screw this draft up...again.

Seider in the top 15 is kinda bold but not really. Krebs is considered quite likely to fall out of the top 13. Knight to the Knights would be awesome. Newhook going top 10, it really depends what you call bold. And Brink, Dorofeyev, and Afanasyev are all expected to go around there.

1. Caufield falls outside the top 10.
2. No one in the top 10 trades up or down.
3. Krebs still goes top 15 despite his injury.
4. Vancouver fans will not sound enthused with whomever they draft.
5. Kaliyev goes top 15.

Predictions 2 and 3 aren't really that bold IMO. I don't think Caufield goes out of the top 10 but we'll see.

These are completely random guesses:

1. Tomasino goes at #13 to Florida.
2. Ryan Johnson goes top 20.
3. Ryan Suzuki falls to 28 and Buffalo trades up to get him.
4. Spencer Knight is taken by the Flames.
5. Vancouver makes a trade at the draft.

Idk if the last 2 are really that bold, but whatever.

5 Predictions:

1) Newhook goes before Cozens
2) Boldy breaks top 10
3) Knight drops out of first round
4) more than 4 trades will occur at the draft
5) Yegor Afanseyev goes top 20

@Rodzikhockey93 Most of these are bold. Especially #1 and #3. The one about Boldy isn't very Boldy (lol). Really, though, it's not very bold. He's expected to go top 10 by lots of people.

This is a tough draft to make a lot of "bold" predictions on, given how interchangeable the players are within the perceived tiers of this draft.

2 more:

Podkolzin falls out of the top 15 (kinda bold)
Lavoie goes to Minnesota at #12 (kinda bold as well)

Neither of these are super bold, but are somewhat bold.

I'm actually pretty amazed that you guys know enough about the players projected outside of the top 5 to make these "bold" predictions. I watch more than my fair share of hockey and I haven't seen much of these kids outside of the WJC. I'm more or less going by stats and competition.

I think the best storyline, aside from the obvious Hughes vs. Kakko, is where will Cole Caufield end up. I can't see top 5 but certainly top 10. EDM would almost certainly take him at no. 8 if he's still available. Given that neither Yamamoto nor Puljujarvi have met expectations at the NHL level they desperately need to hit it big this time around. They also are in desperate need of secondary scoring. This will be another pivotal draft for EDM given their terrible player development and poor cap management.

I think Caulfield will go at #7 to BUF or #8 to EDM. No way he drops below #8.

Jack Hughes falls to 3
Cozens is taken first
Gary Bettman does a bad handshake with Krebs
Bettman isn't booed
Kappo gets drafted 217th
4 is the boldest

To be fair, I'm sure most of us here haven't seen much of these players aside from YouTube highlights. For me personally, most of my intel--if you wanna call it that--comes from various rankings and draft profiles done by analysts and prospect sites, in addition to conversing with people that have seen these guys play; and then whatever game/highlight film I can find. Outside the top 15-20, I'm very unfamiliar with a lot of these prospects, and likely won't do much research until I see who my own team drafts.

I'm just guessing for most of these guys based on what i know about them and what others say about them.

I have him at #5 to LA. 72 goal scorer. More than a goal a game. Not that he's likely to do that in the NHL, but he could be a 40 goal scorer.

@rangersandislesfan you were right about Suzuki falling to 28, but no trade up.
