Perry will not be signing for 1 million he'll look to regain the 1/3 amount of his contract he lost from the buy out. So 2 million will be the low end $ amount to sign him.

Maybe add a few hundred thousand more and include heavy $$ in a 'prove it' performance bonuses. Losing Marleau and Hainsey will hurt the locker room and I think Perry can really step in and help, plus I think he is a Babs type of player.

The risk on player performance bonus money is if they are reached they get tacked onto the following seasons Cap Hit. So do you wanna spend 2 million on this Cap year or only 1.5 million this year and have maybe another 1 + million carried over to year 2021 for a player not on your team?
