Yeah, Quenneville hasn't worked out the best for NJ, and Hayden looks more like a bottom 6 guy. Looks like a fair trade to me.

As a Hawks fan...I see all these Avatars that are from the NYI or EDM or TOR. I'm happy to hear the thoughts, but Hayden was good as gone. He's underperformed more than anyone else in the Hawks system. I hope he takes this as a learning experience because he was TERRIBLE for the Hawks. It's a fair trade because both players want a redo. I'm not sure how it can go 1 way or the other. Good luck to them both!

To all of these people that are saying this was a poor trade for the Hawks, I question if you've ever seen Hayden play in the NHL. He was useless. I was ALL IN on him when he came into the league. He has the size, skill, speed to be a good bottom-6 player but he just isn't. I question his hockey sense at this point. I am happy the Hawks were able to get Quenneville in this trade. He also hasn't shown much in the NHL but hes a year younger and hasn't had nearly to opportunity in the show that Hayden has. He also has very good AHL numbers.

Quenneville is a top six type of player who's not good enough to play in the top six. He's a PP specialist and he has a great one-timer and wrist shot from the circles. Maybe he can develop into a better defensive player and work on his play away from the puck. If so, maybe he'll crack the Hawks 3rd line next season. No question he has talent.
