Kings are still high on Toffoli. Despite not scoring much last year, he still created frequent scoring chances, hit a ton of goalposts, and encountered a lot of hot goaltenders. His shooting percentage of 5.8% was a career low by nearly 4 percentage points. In other words, he was still really good, he just had a lot of bad luck.
Since his trade value is likely at an all-time low, I think the Kings will hang onto him and see how he does under a new offensive-minded coach. If his production continues to disappoint, the Kings will likely move him at the trade deadline for a mid-round pick. If he returns to form, he'll get an extension.
