How are you planning on resigning anyone with no cap space. Reinhart, Montour, Mitts, Kreider, Pilut, Olofsson all need contracts

Without those players signed there is approximately 16.5mil in cap space to work with! Mitts and Pilut get bridge deals. Olofson hasn't proved anything yet, contract will be minimal. Reinhart, Montour and Kreider are the big contracts. Assuming the cap will go up somewhat the following year there is room to work. And that is not including Hunwick and Sobotka dropping off.

Girgensons and Larsson are about to walk not getting tendered, why would NYR or VGK want any part of those trades

Both were tendered qualifying offers.

What do you know that the rest of the world does not:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/2019/06/19/ap-source-sabres-retain-rights-to-girgensons-larsson/39603657/
Now that they have been given qualifying offers, I guess they could go to Europe, but I think they will still appear on the Sabres' reserve squad even if they do that.

My guess is so they can be used in trades. Retaining a layers rights is always the best option. Even if they are traded later for a late round pick you end up getting something for them instead of letting them walk for nothing.

Thats not nearly enough:

Reinhart will get 8-9
Montour will get 5-6
Kreider will get 7-8
Olofsson will get 2-3
Mittelstadt will get 3-4
Pilut will get 3-4

With the cap coming off from expiring contracts, you only get back around 7 mil. If the cap rises to 85 that gives you 11 mil. The raises I just mentioned are over 15 and that's lowballing

You are not considering the money they already make as part of your salaries. At the end of the season there will be approximately 28 to 30 million available! If you signed everyone on your list to the high end of your projections it will take 34 million to sign them all! Obviously this team will not stand pat next offseason! Plus you will lose 1 contract to Seattle! You can probably get Okposo to waive and pay them in draft pick compensation to take him! If not there is still another contract gone! Did you miss the buried contracts and the 2.5 for the retention of Bogo? That's almost 7 million right there! Your math is way off!!

That being said none of this is really likely to begin with!
