I think McCabe has more value than Soderberg. He is an aging player and McCabe is still improving.

You get my vote for manager of the year if you could make all of those trades.

And he is 25 hitting the prime of his career! You are trading him for a 33 yrs old Center at the end of his career! We need a 2C not another 3C

25 isnt young and soderberg had 49 points last year.

Well you just made us older, slower, and worse long term outside of Ehlers but I still think you overpaid for Ehlers/cap dump.

Once again, very glad you aren't our GM. Making panicked moves is what sewers franchises.

Trading Nylander before we even give him a try. Trading McCabe for a rental. Giving up Samuelsson. These are all moves set to improve immediately but they dont consider the long term imo

McCabe is a 3rd pairing defenseman. Nylander is nothing and samuelsson is nice, but years away and we have plenty of good defensive prospects.

I added a 50 point center, and upgrade at LHD to McCabe, a 60 point winger who is only 2 years older than nylander, a useful middle 6 forward in those trades.

We have drafted top 8 7 years in a row. Enough

I like most of your posts; I am not a big fan of this one.
1) While Söderberg is a good acquisition, and McCabe is currently a 3rd pairing defenseman, he was the Sabres top LHD just two years ago. That is not because he has played more poorly but Dahlin and Pilut are better. I would rather have McCabe for another 7 years as our 3rd LHD than Söderberg (who is very good) for 2 or 3.
2) I can say the same about Martinez, he is obviously better than Nelson, but at 31 yo, how many years will be effective.
3) I am in love with the Miller trade, STL second would be an amazing trade.
4) Sure why not trade Scandella, while Condon is not great, we could use some GK depth and you bring back a 7th.
5) This is a nice trade, Ehlers and Perreault would add forward depth. I would hate to trade Ristolainen as he is the age that many big defensemen have their first break out year.
If you are looking to make the team better for the next 2 or 3 years, this does that. In 3 to 4 years when Perreault, Söderberg and Martinez are gone and the young players are no longer on the roster, the team will be weaker.
Finally, I seriously doubt the Avalanche, Kings, Knights or Jets would accept the trades you proposed as they are all in a win now situation, and the returns are less than the players they are trading away are worth. Ottawa really has no need for Scandella so I do not see why they would make that trade.

Yup, and why would the Jets make that trade when they could just sign Myers for nothing

Yup, I think we learned from 3 years with DATM.
Let me interject some of his greatest hits:
1) 3rd for Vesey rights (Hmm only a fifth for the right to Hayes?)
2) 2nd for Gorges
3) 2nd, 2nd McNabb for Fasching and Deslauriers (Hmm one of those 2nd got Cernak, wow McNabb and Cernak just thrown away)
4) Only one 2nd for Stewart when Chiarelli offered him 2 in October.
5) 3rd and Pysyk for Kulikov.
6) 1st for Lehner and Legwand (a cap dump), Lehner was Ottawa's 3rd GK at the time of the trade (Talbot the most coveted GK the previous year was traded for the 57th and 79th OA picks not the 21st OA) and Ottawa was looking to dump Lehner.
7) Myers for Bogosian.
Getting Kane and O'Reilly were good trades but they never led Buffalo to a winning season, much less play offs or the Stanley cup.
I do not like jump starting the rebuild.
So multiple years of top 10 draft picks is what happens when one tries to rush the rebuild

Much younger if you are Merlin, who gets younger with every year.

Do you ever read comments?
Did you notice that I actually said said I like your previous posts.
Did you see I said about Söderberg, and Martinez? Did I not say they would be a good acquisition?
Did you see I said they are better than McCabe and Nelson?
Did you understand my comment: "If you are looking to make the team better for the next 2 or 3 years, this does that."
At what point did i even insinuate that Nelson and McCabe were close to the value of Söderberg, and Martinez?
Did I not say "I seriously doubt the Avalanche, Kings, Knights or Jets would accept the trades you proposed ..... the returns are less than the players they are trading away are worth."
Then why would you replay with such a short, curt, insulting, inaccurate comment as yours?
Do you think you are the font of all Hockey knowledge?
I know you will not read this comment as well, or you will misinterpret what I am saying.
