I like the Colorado and Buffalo trades and could live with the Vegas trade. Where is Buchnevich?

For taking on Reaves and 2 years of Stasny, I think the Rangers could give less. Maybe remove Lindgren and I'd do it.

If I were to recreate it though, I'd rather take Eakin or Haula, because they also only have a year left on their deals.

Would like to hear from a VGK side, is my proposal close? The cap space is the big gain for Vegas but there will be competing deals so we will have to give up more than just Lias and a pick. But Vegas can’t take a dime in salary back, and is going to need to give up a big contract or they’ll never escape this issue. NYR should take notice and ignore Panarin’s 11m requests

Ooof not a great Kreider trade at all. If it's Kaut you're probably closer. But with Bowers that conditional is gonna need to be a 1st.

it's a big overpayment on the both sides. Remove Andersson and stasny

Just got Trouba for a first and a throw away player. The market is not favorable and a first is valuable. It is what it is. We have no leverage with him given he’s gotta be moved now with just one year left on his deal

Just dumping Reeves isn’t enough for Vegas though. I like Haula but that’s probably not enough salary either

Throw in Clarkson, Vegas wants to get rid of him even though he doesn't count against the cap. We have enough defensive prospects so Lindgren wouldn't hurt. He's a solid defenseman. Hartford woes mask that.

Reaves+Clarkson+Gusev for Lindgren+3rd is a good deal

Word is Clarkson will invoke his no trade clause on any deal sending him to a high tax state. What an asshole. But that’s why I left him out.

Carolina got a 1st and 7th for taking on 1 year of Marleau at 6.25M, while giving up a 6th rounder.

In the proposed deal, the Rangers take on over 9M in year 1 and 6.5M in year 2. Instead of pennies, you're getting 2 future NHL regulars and a 3rd.

Gusev might be more of a sure thing than a 1st round pick, but we've seen Russians play well in the KHL and be busts in the NHL. I think this deal is pretty good for VGK

So do Col and Buf.

If every trade and signing are done before the Vesey and Kreider trades they are cap dumps.

Cap dump = over the cap if you don't make these trades. And by a lot. Kreider and Vesey come to 6.9 mil in cap and the Rangers have, after the other moves, ~590K in space.

Both pass.

They will figure it out. They aren't giving away players who are assets. That trade is not even fair value for Stastny, let alone with Gusev and Reaves involved.

Fox starts the year in Hartford. Organization is focusing on improving the situation there and it would be good precedent for a guy who hasn’t played pro hockey yet to get started there, especially when we have 3 RHD and owe Carolina another pick if he plays 30 games. Let shattenkirk have a chance to raise his trade value, it’s a win-win for everyone, except maybe Fox but that’s too bad - he’s had his way every step of the way, he can make a sacrifice.

Marleau is washed up and old and has no value. That is why they had to give up a 1st. Stastny is a top line center playing great hockey in his prime. This is an apples and oranges ccomparison. So keep dreaming.

I don’t think you understand this concept. You can’t field a team with the cap hit you currently have and burying Clarkson on LTIR doesn’t fix the issue.

Perfect example. Kreider makes 4.625 mil and Vesey makes 2.275. And you expect a 1st, a prospect and Nylander.

All of these deals are spot on. Might have to add a mid pick to the Vegas deal only because there will be competing offers for that cap dump. Kreider is getting the correct value. and the Vesey trade with that package has been rumored for a while. Good work.

Stasny is a good 2nd line center. Not a "TOP line center" and is past his prime. 50pt at C is not 1st line numbers.

I completely understand. They can make trades without getting raped. The players all have value, so they dont have to dump them.

Gusev doesn't even count on the cap as an unsigned RFA. They can let him get an offer sheet and get a 2nd rounder. Why would they give him away?

Dude you guys have to cut salary, it isn’t about market value for your players. You are going to be taken advantage of because your GM gave too much money away. I get that you want to keep everyone but they make too much money. Do the math.
I wouldn’t trade a sack of rocks for Vesey but multiple reports suggest there is a market for him, and Nylander was a rumored return.
Teams will want Kreider and he will get a first. Stastny might get a first also, but nobody is going to offer Vegas one because they know they don’t have to. You literally can’t play hockey in October unless you unload like 5-8m dollars from the payroll.
