Description

Everyone was looking at Carolina moving one of their defenders, well they just moved the D guy they were projected to move to the Hawks and for peanuts. Forsling and Forsberg for de Haan and a prospect....crazy good trade for Chicago.

My bet is either Gus, Murphy or Keith are now on the move.

I'm going with the Coach Q and Tallon connection in Florida for Keith.

I think that’s probably a good call. I think that after the 1st wave of FA signings Hawks will trade Anisimov also.

I'll admit that was also my first thought. Not sure how I feel about it. I still think Keith is REALLY good and will be a solid dman for years

I agree, but that was by a country mile Coach Q's favorite player and Tallon signed him. Wouldn't be surprised to see Keith go now that De Haan is signed. Not saying De Haan can totally replace Keith because he can't but we have a major logjam for sure and Keith isn't getting younger. While leadership is great to have, Seabs provides us that and he is unmovable so Keith would be logical between the two and Florida needs a defensive vet and left hander.

However, could certainly see Gus or Murphy on the move also and bringing back a top 6 player. Either one for Kappanen or Johnsson from Toronto could be a possibility.

Florida would have no business taking on that contract. In all likelihood, they're getting both Bobrovsky and Panarin, they wouldn't want to screw up their cap structure.

Besides the cap reasons, value wise, that's an awful trade

No it's not. Keith is still a top 3 D guy on almost all teams. Hoffman is a 1 year rental and UFA of course. Coach Q, Coach Kitchens and Tallon are all Keith's biggest fans...they are calling the shots. Florida needs a veteran D with cup experience and lefthanded would be preferred. Hawks might have to throw in a middle of the road prospect or 3rd rounder, but it's not nearly as far off for those of us that know Q, Kitchens and Tallon. They are defense first and love the vets with cup experience.

Hate to say i told you so CHIHAWK but remember i said there is no way Hawks are going into a make or break season for BOWMAN with the same defence , that could not hold a lead could not PK and got beat constantly by fast forwards . I do not think STANBO is done one of SEABS , KEITH , or GUS is gone next . I dont think its KEITH by the way

You did! Kudos.....that said I hate the Maatta trade but like the De Haan one. I think it's murphy, gus or keith...don't think Seabs is movable.
