Why trade Vatanen? Aside from injury problems he is a really good defenseman. Also, I don't see Anaheim taking him back, particularly not for a pick when they are essentially rebuilding. I'd keep Vatanen.

No way the devils do that Edmonton trade. Zacha is an elite PKer and very good defensively, with Hughes/Nico in the mix ahead of him at C he'll be a very good 3rd line center for this team when Zajac is gone. No way you trade him for a reclamation project and complete wildcard like Puljujarvi. Also only moving Vats if Shero can find a "hockey trade", no reason to move him for a pick

If the devils have a rough go I could see them moving vats at the deadline for a nice price to a team taking a step. But agreed, I think a hockey trade is the only way he'd go b/c if we're sellers at the tdl Halls future won't look bright

Also I am very high on zacha and will continue to spam armchair gm teams saying we should not get rid of him, I really think he has coutourier breakout type potential and given his special teams play and defensive responsibility he is as low risk as it gets

To answer both vatanen and zacha trades. Simply put I don't follow the devil's that closely and was just impressed by your offseason so made this post.

If those trades were dumb I humbly accept the corrections/criticisms.

Good luck this year. Team looks great

Not dumb necessarily, just curious. I think NJ is better with Sami.
