Aside from Guentzel, the LWs you have there are nothing to brag about. All 3 of them combined have under 30 total NHL goals last season. This roster is only ideal for every opponent the Penguins face.

A. The lines aren't going to be that, they would change, and B. We brought in Kahun to play next to Malkin, I'm not complaining about having a 40 point ROOKIE who was in his first season on NA ice in the top 6, ZAR was hurt guy parts of last year and was also the only positive player when playing with Malkin and Kessel (ik +/- is a **** stat, but it does tell you something when one member of a line is +8 or 9 iirc, and the other two are both - I think) and Accari was one of the best 4th liners in the league last year, I have 0 complaints about having him on the fourth line, plus if you need to you can put rust on the LW, Aberg was on pace for 20-25 goals before he was traded to MIN, and Simon can play LW, and while he's not gonna put the pick in the net, he is a possession god

Explain why Jack Johnson is still on the team. Him being on the roster can not be ideal now can it?

I just don't think that contract is movable without giving up another big asset that would make it not worth it

There are plenty of 1st and 2nd round picks available to trade. The Penguins usually draft at 20th or above anyways. Even if they had to give up a prospect or the rights to ZAR or the like, it would absolutely, 100% be worth moving that useless turd Johnson and the 4 more years of his 3.25m cap hit. He had the most goals allowed out of all Penguins defensemen and looks lost half the time and can't move the puck worth a damn. It gives the Penguins cap flexibility and stability on the blue line just parting ways with him. I wouldn't surprised if Rutherford goes n gets Phaneuf to make Kessel happy. I hope that never happens lol.
