You shouldn't have to retain on Johnson since Ottawa has to hit the cap floor but I think a pick or mid-tier prospect needs to be attached and they wouldn't have to send a player on LTIR back since it doesn't effect the cap. Why take on Nylander and his 7mil when you could probably get Kapanen, who will cost significantly less money, for what you are offering? Hainsey is trash and is not apart of anybodies "dreams". In Hainsey, you are getting Jack Johnson essentially for less salary.
