Trading Keith FLA VAN

Created by: chihawksfan8
Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 26, 2019
Published: Jun. 26, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With the log jam of defenseman and Seabrook most likely not going anywhere, Keith is the only one who makes sense to go. In this he reunites with Q down in Florida and rides out his time.

Anisimov helps Vancouver down the middle while the Hawks take on another reclamation project in Jake Virtanen.

Good job with (your opinion) trades. I can totally see something like this happen, especially with Chicago's reputation of getting the better end of deals

Good job!

I agree that it is very tempting to put Dach in the roster right away. But from my point of view, keep developing in the WHL and if he crack the roster, put him in a top line to produce. I don´t like the way Phily has handled Nolan Patrick. These top prospect must be used in situations to make best use of their qualities.

I like the idea with the Hoffman trade. But should Blackhawks be worried with his off-ice "problems". I don´t want to make a to big deal out of it but the situation in Ottawa with Karlsson was not good.

I am pretty sure that Kubalik will get a good chance in a top role. I shouldn´t compare him with Panarin but in some way a similar situation. A point per game player in Europe so give him a chance in a top role.

I don´t see that Vancouver needs another center instead of a rugged winger (Horvat - Pettersson - Sutter - Beagle - Gaudette - Schaller and even Miller, Spooner, McEwen and Motte can play C, also they gave a qo to Gaunce and Laplante with only Motte of them being a RFA and could walk away this summer).

I don't really want to trade Keith. There's a lot of unpack when trading Keith. A.) He still plays 23+ minutes a game of being a #1Dman. B.) He hasn't slown down at all...he's been the most physically fit Blackhawks in training camp just about every single year he's been a Blackhawks. Sure he doesn't play 25+ min a game, but that's just Q riding Keith. If Keith goes to Florida...he might again play 25 minutes a game! C.) His cap is still a bargain. $5.5M for #1Dman is HUGE! D.) if Keith gets traded there needs to be consideration about his cap-recapture. There are major penalties to the Hawks if he chooses that Florida (or any where) isn't the place for him. Much of this can be handled...like open communication between Tallon and Bowman. Trading him back if he plans to retire. But still something to consider.
