Description

There may be a good fit with these two teams if isles strike out with Panarin as expected.

Next year Ladd is moved somehow or LTIR (5.5m), Martin is gone or resigned for much less (2.5m)
Greiss is gone and likely replaced with Sorokin (3.33m)
Kulikov is gone or signed for a lot less (4.33m)
15.66m available to sign Barzal, Roslovic, Toews, Sorokin, etc

From Wpg perspective they have no need to try and sign Myers.

No chance from NYI. I would do Leddy and Hickey for Ehlers and Kulikov. Pulock is a non-starter.

Also, I know it was just one year, but Pulock and Ehlers had the same amount of points. I like Ehlers a lot, but let's not act like Ehlers is better or more valuable than Pulock just because of his contract.

Well I said it was arguable. I realize no one wants to trade Pulock. I like him a lot as well. However, if isles want a top 6 scorer wing/center they have to give up something of value.
Maybe just Leddy for Ehlers as a starting point.
I thought the Roslovic/Beau idea wasn’t bad since it is rumored that Roslovic wants out of Wpg

Your idea is probably better Leddy and Hickey combined is 8 million and gives Wpg cost certainly for three years and cap relief. Ehlers and Kulikov combined is 10.33 million which Isles can fit this year and lose the Kulikov contract next year to pay barzal

Not only is Leddy not enough for Ehlers, he is too expensive.

As for this trade, on our side, I would say we would also include a 2nd rounder but we need 1M retained on Leddy

That's why I don't mind acquiring guys who have a year left on their deals if we trade guys with term. Hickey for a more expensive defenseman with an expiring contract like Kulikov or Scandella is intriguing to me.

I don’t think the isles can give up both Pulock and Wilde. We would only have Dobson and then nobody to replace Boychuck down the road.

Anyway there may be a possibility to agree on something to get Ehlers. Probably Hickey, Beauvillier or Dal Colle plus Ho-Sang or a prospect not named Dobson, Wilde, Wahlstrom or Holmstrom.

Leddy for Ehlers. That's it. 2nd rounder to add? OK.

BUT...
NO BEAUVILLIER - Has already proven he can be a top 6-7 forward. Keep Roslovic
NO PULOCK - He's worth more, has more upside than Kuli and is younger
