Description
Not saying it would come to this, but I thought it’d be worth considering the possibility that things might go this poorly.

F1- Bailey-Barzal-Eberle

Barzal and Eberle have shown they can play together very well. Bailey can handle big minutes, is defensively responsible and moves the puck well. I considered putting Beauvillier on LW1, but he didn’t have a very good year last year. Earn it, Beau.

F2- Beauvillier-Nelson-Ho Sang

We’ve actually seen this line before, and it worked well until Ho Sang got sent down for “defensive issues” under Weight. All of these players have come a long way since then, and the line combo still makes a lot of sense to me. Beau and Nelson shoots, Ho-Sang moves the puck.

F3- Dal Colle-Koivula-Wahlstrom

I’ve always been a fan of kid lines. Dal Colle will be here for his second season, and while he wasn’t spectacular he was very, very reliable. You’d also see flashes of his potential here and there. Koivula and Wahlstrom would be new to the big game, but all three of them have big bodies and a good shot. Speed is a concern with this line, but Wahlstrom should be dynamic enough to make for that.

F4- Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck

Ole Faithful.

D1- Pelech-Pulock

Not a Pelech fan, but he brings out the best in Pulock and there’s no denying Pulock is our best defenseman is right now. And the coaches like this pairing, so that’s always a plus.

D2- Leddy-Dobson

Both have good speed and offensive upside, and both are coming off revival type years. Leddy repaired his defensive game from what it was under Weight and Dobson turned his season around after moving to Rouyn-Noranda. This pairing could be a force.

D3- Toews-Mayfield

These two young defensemen compliment each other perfectly. Toews’ speed and puck movement with Mayfield’s physicality and penchant for shooting. It just fits too well.

There's NO WAY Filpula doesn't come back in your "Worst Case Scenario".
There's NO WAY LOU goes in to the season with HO-SANG as a TOP 6 forward.
There's NO WAY Boychuk is a scratch over LEDDY / Dobson.

I understand what you're doing with this post, but as already been said, there are WAY too many good UFA's and RFA's available, as well as, too many teams up against the CAP for Lou not to make ANY moves other than resigning Lehner. There is also no way Toews plays on the 3rd pairing, he's arguably our 2nd best defenseman right now AND no way Boychuk and Hickey are on the bench.

It’s what I would do, not what Lou would do.
