I'm confused, you have Kyle Connor on a 10.5 million offer sheet, but he is listed as 7.5 in the roster

And you honestly think Pheonix would trade Keumper after a season like that for a 4th and minor leaguer?

The Leafs don't have a 1st rounder this year, its technically owned by Carolina meaning the Leafs can't offer sheet anyone where the compensation is a 1st round pick. They'd essentially have to let Marner go for an offer sheet, and then trade the newly aquired 1st rounder for their own first rounder so they could then spend that 1st rounder on Connor. Keep in mind Connor has played the last 2 seasons with Schiefele and Wheeler, those are two extremely high end talents. Who's driving the boat there?

Offer sheets are averaged over 5 years when calculating the compensation. (7 years * 7.5)/5 years, equals out to 10.5 mill over 5 years.

Also, to be honest the Keumper one should probably be modified. But, the yotes do strange things.

Capfriendly has all the rules placed in the armchair GM system, I do not think the first needs to be this year. As we learned this past week the 4 firsts can be within a 5 year window, doesn't have to include next year's pick with that compensation. So I would expect the rules for the compensation for the connor deal I have in place to probably be correct.

Connor has back to back 30 goal seasons, kid is a stud. But it is a good question to put forward.

Or we could just not get Keumper and resign like... Hutchinson or wait and see if Reimer is bought out and sign him on the cheap and dirty.

I don't think Hutchinson is the answer... Reimer could be a good option.

Whatever the move is, I think we can agree the backup position needs to be addressed!
