I'd try upgrading the backup goaltending. If Ennis would resign for 1M x 2yrs, it'd be a dream, but I don't really see that happening. He deserves more, and I think another team would be interested in signing him if they had extra money to spend on a good, speedy depth scorer, especially if they struggled with offence or powerplay.

we will take brown but we don't want to be stuck with zaitsev's rough contract when we have our own cap issues to worry about. Toronto would have to retain to have any chance of zaitsev being dealt to YEG cause we've got enough money tied up on the back end. plus we have multiple dmen that will be roster ready and taking zaitsev's spot within the next couple of years so it would make more sense for edmonton to use the 4.5M and get better wingers or a 1b goalie instead of having another potential lucic situation where we will have 2-3yrs of significant dead cap
