Description
Not sure if the main trade works. Maybe additional picks required.

The hope is with Kessel Turris can bounce back and pens get a true triple threat again. The pens window is rapidly coming to a close this is a big gamble but could pay off big. Or trigger the start of a rebuild that will be coming in a season or two anyway.

  1. Turris, Kyle
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (NSH)
NSH
  1. Hörnqvist, Patric
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (PIT)
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Hornqvist is known to NSH, they need more secondry scoring. It saves them a little cap space that can be used in FA.
2.
PIT
  1. 2020 7th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Ottowa need players, but that doesnt mean they will load up on any old crap. Gudbranson has proven in Pitt that he isnt that bad. Ott can easily take his contract which only has two years left.
OTT
  1. Gudbranson, Erik
  2. 2020 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Pens need to clear some cap space in their D. I would much rather see JJ gone but with the length of his contract and level of play it would probabaly just cost too much. Guddy is expensive but has done his role well in Pit.

I'm hesitant on the NSH trade. I don't think it's bad value really, but Hornqvist is 32 and doesn't play a game that ages well. And if Turris comes back to form, he's better than Hornqvist. Hornqvist does have a year less and $700,000 less salary which is nice.

I'm more hesitant than most Preds fans to trade Turris I think. He was injured a lot last year, and I think he is likely to bounce back. Definitely gets me thinking - not sure if I would do the deal or not, so that means it's a good offer. Nice stuff.

Gudbranson actually looked... Good in PIT, if he continues to look that way through Dec ish, I think he'll have some positive value

Gudbranson is overpriced, I will never pretend otherwise. But his play has been fine and lets be honest Sens arent in need of cap space in the next two years. But I can say them wanting a little more, maybe a 3rd but I dont see it costing much more than that.

Five years of Turris? Could just extend the cap problems.

Nash declines because they’re targeting Duchene, which will eat up most of their cap space.

Adding a player like Turris is a good move for the third line, but he's 29. He'll be about in his mid thirties when the contract is done. I just wonder if he's worth it. It may be moot anyway, the defense is laughably bad.

ummm, Nashville actually GAINS space by that move. Turris makes more than Hornqvist.

Yes, marginally, I’m saying if they are able to move Turris they won’t want a similar cap hit. They’ll be looking to save more than $700k.

If they want to move him without taking a similar player back then they probabaly gonna have to pay a fair bit.

Most certainly they’ll have to sweeten the deal, and substantially, that’s a bad contract.
