Frolik is not a bad contract. He's a good player. Cgy would sooner keep him.

Why would you give up a 30 goal scorer to get rid of cap? That's too big a price to pay. I mean, you get 8M in cap space, but that's still too big a price to pay.

Relax bro. These trades are based on online articles that state a good argument, if these journalists were totally out to lunch their publishers wouldn't publish it

Who suggests any of these teams pay this big for one year of contracts left? This is hilarious post the links then I'm generally curious

It's been circulating online for months that CGY need to shed Frolik in order to give Tkachuk his 9 mill. I'm not just randomly making up a hypothetical scenario.

I'm confused why Montreal takes on bad contracts, to only dump their top goal scorer whos on a friendly deal, to release a bad contract.

He's coming up because he's easy to trade. 30-45 pt player with 1 year left. He's being sold as a rental.

ooooof, this is brutal

no way you'd get that much from EDM and CGY

Youre basically giving Gallagher away for nothing

I doubt Marleau would sign with MTL

Cause if Gallagher puts up another 30+ goal season MTL won't want to give him 8+ mill at age 29. Obviously there's the option of trading him to someone else for picks. But I think DET would do this considering they have the cap space.

You couldn't even do this in a video game. You know Frolik is a 2nd line winger right? Not too mention a huge part of any teams PK. Talk around town is that he will be traded FOR a second or third round pick. This is in no way similar to the Marleau "deal". Sorry bud

No he's not that easy cause he has M-NTC with a list of 10 team no trade list.

They successfully traded him to Minnesota for Zucker once, and Min botched the paperwork

Also, Rittich is Calgary's starter. Talbot is the backup by the sounds of it.

He's not signed yet. But fine...how much is Rittich gonna ask for? At least 4 for sure.

Sure. He's an RFA. Likely comes in at 2.5-3.25 x 3. They have the room they need. Either Brodie or Frolik can move to clear space. Both have value. Only one GM has used a 1st round pick to clear a contract.

One of the more brutal trades I have seen recently. Frolik is a tradeable asset and Stone is a cheap buyout option.

I suspect your phantom source might be your 15 year old older brother.

Because video games don't understand "cap strapped". You think NSH in a video game would've accepted the Subban trade??

Two contracts they can keep and they just expire next summer. It's unrealistic.

Please explain me how they gonna sign 4 more players (including Tkachuk and Rittich) with 13 mill available?
