The real offersheet target

Description
Point had the most goals by an RFA and a the second best points per game (Rantanen, then Point, then Marner).

Point is also a center. He's significantly more valuable than Marner

Tampa is in cap hell and I'm not sure they CAN match. I know the income tax state differences but with jock taxes and out of market games the difference is less than you think.

Actually makes much more sense for an offersheet. Just not sure if Point would sign it. The whole Florida tax thing, the Florida lifestyle and Tampa's team are all better than Buffalo and would probably sway him to just sign in Tampa

Doesn't have to be buffalo. Just was thinking of a team with cap space and needing a top 2 c.

Still, what better place than Tampa?

Good team. Good lifestyle. Good weather. Good taxes. ... that's a hard place to leave right now

He would sign it because either he gets $10,565,000 with NY taxes OR TBL matches and he gets it with FLA taxes.... or lack there of..

Or he signs a team friendly cap hit in Tampa where he gets the same amount of money as he would in New York and helps Tampa has more pieces.. that much in New York is like $8.5M in Tampa.. so if he signs at $8.5M in Tampa it's the same amount of money as in New York plus he plays on a better team. Highly doubt he signs that offer sheet.

Ps. There's no way Tampa could or would match it actually
