kinda makes sense
Petry's better then Zaitsev thought
Weber was down and Petry was playing 25-27 minutes thrivng .
its fair to say Weber's injury gave him the chance to show he had more to offer .

Muzzin just seems like a good anchor for 2nd pair with Petry gone .
Mete-Weber up top and Muzzin-Juulsen on 2nd followed by Kulak -Brook on Bottom .
with Romanov up in 2020 our D core looks more legit

MTL isn't moving Petry. Not before or at the start of the upcoming season anyways. Maybe next offseason once MTL has a better idea about Juulsen, Brook, Fleury. if any one of them proves they can step up, Petry will hit the market 100%, but not before. A top pairing offensive RD who is signed at $5.5mil aav for the next 2 years is too valuable.

Thompsons a 21 year old Center prospect he's got value
but the main value is BUF pick which is almost guaranteed a top 10 either in 2020 or 2021 .
they've selected 1st-8th the last 7 years straight with a top 3 pick 3/7 years .

so the returns a top 4 D , a 21 year old prospect and a top 10 pick either in 2020 or 2021 as BUF is that badly managed .

Thompson is a 21 year old bottom six player who many are certain can't play C (fringe position) with very little value (limited, limited points with relatively good NHL mins), and who is the top 4 dman? You cannot mean Scandella? Not a top 4. Yeah the pick has value, but what does a pick down the road do for the leafs who are in their window now? Leafs strength is upfront, that is how they compete. You totally nerf them. This 3rd line does nothing. And in the end, you don't improve the d.

And by you, I mean to say I am arguing your position in support of this. Not to say you published this.

Thompson only has to work on his shot delivery. Hes 21, thats easy enough for him to develop at that age. Hes got every thing else skating speed hands height. Hes not laughable unless you dont know what you're looking at

Yeah you have no idea what youre talking about. Theirs debate about having Thompson on Eichels line if he just improves his shot in this camp. He was a PPG player in the A at 21 years old at the end of the season, hes not a fringe NHLer

The sabres arent that bad. I question this year, but they wont be top 10 for the 2021 draft

Lol you are trading Tage Thompson for William Nylander. In his absolute nightmare season, he still doubled Thompson on points. And yeah Scandella is not a top 4. You have the leafs paying their 3rd pair dman 4 million. Lol. And yes, they are worse upfront and on the back end. I have no idea what I am talking about. Right.

I did not say he was a fringe NHLer, I'm not high on him, don't know if he can be a top 6 player. I said I have read that positionally he is a fringe C. Many think he can't play down the middle

When did i say anything about Scandella. I said your wrong about Thompson. I also never said Thompson was Nylander, thats why the Sabres add a first. Thompson is a potential 20-30 G a season forward. You said hes a fringe NHL. So therefore, you are wrong. Not all players come in at 18 fully developed. Doesnt mean they wont develop. You cant just look at the cap friendly stats page and pretend you know what youre talking about

Hes been a winger, so I dont know why it matters if he can play center or not

And also, there is probably talk about him playing on Eichel's line so that he can carry him up because Eichel is an elite player

Fringe positionally in a position he doesnt play, I dont have him playing, nor would he usually be expected to play

Lol yes, the scouts. You convene with them at home games. Local media. Lol let me guess, Mike Harrington? That would perhaps explain your flawed reasoning. Lol the GM of the team. Yes, definitely listen and believe the GM who has a clear vested interest in upselling the main piece he got back in one of the worst trades in NHL history. Yeah, you keep listening, thanks for coming out bud.

See Kane for Dany Oregan and a 1st
in the end all you have left is Montour who you used the 1st to acquire as Oregans

See Pysyk ,2nd and a 3rd for Kulikov and a 2nd

See Kane acquisition giving up Lemieux ,Armia,Stafford,Meyers, and Roslovic.

See Mcnabb and two 2nd rounders for Fasching and Deslauriers

you get in depth and pick then give them away instead of developing them .
before long Eichel will be like Vanek , approaching 30 and realizing he wasted a decade on
a team who's not built around a youth core since the 1990's .

you make the same mistakes every time
you get a big name drawing in crowds and that's all you care about .
TML did the same thing for Decade's until new Foundation from top position to bottom was
put in place to fix what they admitted were faults .

a few year later TML is the most dominating looking team i've seen in 30 +years from them
BUF needs to learn from TML overhaul and replace everyone from President on down
