Accidentally voted for Colorado winning the trade. Meant Washington. Looks like maybe a bit too much for Burakovsky. Pretty close though i guess.

Never scored 20 goals and you paid a second and a third for him? Soderberg scored more goals than him! Dont get this trade from COL side.

Do not like this at all for Colorado. He's 25 and coming off back to back 25 point seasons. At a certain point you need to stop talking 'potential' with players and look at what they actually are, and what he 'is' isn't worth a 2nd and a 3rd.

I'd love to be wrong, but I don't think I am.

Shoutout to all the losers that said Burakovsky had no trade value at 3.25M

Overpayment from Colorado so Washington wins the trade IMO. But I wouldn't be surprised if we all say Colorado wins the trade at the end of the season. He hasn't showed a lot during the regular season, but he has been really good and consistent in the playoffs for the past 3 years. I kinda understand why they made this trade and the change of scenery might turn out great for both sides. But that 2nd...

I voted fair deal. COL is buying "low" on A.B. I can see him scoring 20G in COL b/c he'll likely move up in the lineup. He was often relegated to a depth role in WASH. He's a highly skilled player who's been on there highlight real plenty of times. I think the draft picks were adequate comp for WASH. And...It probably won't cost COL more than $2.5M AAV to extend A.B.

I guess Sakic realized he had too much cap space

I mean technically he's not at $3.25M, he's an RFA.

I'm a bit conflicted, because I think he could be a 20 goal scorer. However, everyone knew it would be hard to keep him, and it didn't look like he would break into Caps top six anyway. Guess I'm happy for Burakovsky getting a bigger role somewhere else, but also looking forward to what Capitals will do with their third line.

Well, he hasn't been producing during the regular season, but he has been one of the better players of the Caps during the play offs in the last couple of years. So I think he showed his potential and he showed that he can perform at the most important moment (for example the 2 goals vs Tampa in game 7 last year).

100% bizarro-world. Him getting the QO was bad. Someone giving a 2nd and a 3rd is straight insane.

not that a 2nd has all that much value. But even saying that, it's an over payment.

I like this trade for the Avs. They finally get some depth on forward that might make them not a 1 line team anymore. I don't know why Washington would trade a young core player for futures when they are trying to win now.

Coloradoe's biggest need is depth and Burakovsky is a a great 3/4th line guy and by all accounts a great locker room guy as well

I guess I don’t pay attention to his stat line, but IMO this is a great deal for Colorado. Burakovsky is such a skilled player that couldn’t put it together, and Colorado gives up a measly 2nd & 3rd. Massive loss for the caps by giving up on such a talented player.

Colorado is my pick to go far in West, if not Cup then maybe lose in Conference Finals... Either way within 5 years if they can get solid goalie play when needed I'm expecting Avalanche to win a Cup or least be a real deal for it... I recall when I said they were already competitive when many were talking rebuild when I was clear it was retooling... I think they were probably better off keeping Soderstrom or wahtever his name much like Sharks would have won Cup if they kept HOffman instead of wasting assets on Krap Karl smile. I give edge to Avalanche thinking this guy gets himself going playing in the thin air in an offensive exciting system and PP.

I've not logged in but had to stay awake to DVR REd Sonja in HD smile... I was just so upset by the Miller trade I had to comment instead of just be depressed... I've not logged on to this site at all for a year or two since some troll set me off wink... I think I predicted Blues would win when they traded Trash Reaves among some other moves on here or other places though smile. I got a dog a few years ago so can't really leave him or he would eat sheets/couch etc... Even the walls, now he has emotional issue where don't eat if he gets upset or whatever... Its tough w/ 4th of July coming... I left a few trades I didn't vote or comment on that maybe I will later depending if I log on or not wink.
