Detroit says no thank you! If Detroit wasn't going to use AA to get Trouba so why would they use him to get Ristolainen? I'm not saying Risto is bad he is a good player and I think if Buffalo limits his minutes his play on both sides or the ice will improve. But Trouba imo is better all around player and a player Detroit has had interest in for a couple of years.

Jets weren’t going to accept a deal without getting a first round pick and Yzerman (thankfully) didn’t give up our first round pick for Trouba. Surprisingly I like this proposed deal w Buffalo

I agree with the Trouba statement but this trade is awful for Detroit. Trust me if Detroit moves one of the big 3 it will be Mantha.

As much as I dont want the wings to move AA I dont mind this deal. Risto is a big right shot defence and tage thompson was a 1st round pick 2 years ago I believe. I think risto will have a bounce back year. And he is signed for a few years.

buffalo is trying to move risto for a reason. the same reason I dont want him in Detroit. He'll be -47 in Detroit next year.

The reason is that they have 2 other top 4 RD that they recently acquired

yeah you said it, they went out and got players so they can move him because they dont like the player. Would you trade AA and his 30 goals straight up for colin miller the guy whos replacing him? I dont hate the player, risto puts up points, but I hate the trade. I know buffalo isn't great but hes like -150 for his career and hes putting up 40pts a season. He makes me want to trade for krug.

Risto has great size, can be imposing physically and lets not act like his +/- has nothing to do with him being on buffalo for 5 1/2 years, put him a good team and that can certainly change

Mantha has way more upside than AA. AA is fast and can score but that’s it. He’s a middle six center at best, while mantha looked like a top line elite winger from like the second half of the season-the world championship iihf tourney.

He did go off the last 10 games and if he hadn't he would've been on the trading block as soon as the season ended. He gets lazy Devellano called him out twice when he was in the AHL. Check out his game logs in the first half of the season he had three 4 game stretches with no points and in the second half of the season he had two 6 game stretches with out any points. Top line elite wingers may ha a drought like that once a season he had 5. I don't want Detroit to trade Mantha but AA is easily more valuable. AA started the season in Blashill's dog house. He started the season as a 3rd or 4th line wing and he had to earn more playing time and the chance to play center. His defensive play has improved quite a bit. When Larkin was hurt Blashill turned to AA to step up. At the end of the season Blashill even said AA is his #2 center.
