That's something the rich Leafs can do. Marincin and Holl can sent to the minors...and it doesn't hurt the cap. And other teams are more reluctant to claim them off waivers because if they want to waive them to the minors eventually, those two guys are making 700,000 not the AHL salary of 70,000.

Looks like the Leafs aren't optismistic in resigning Hainsey. With somewhat regular ice time, Marincin might be OK.
