Sens shouldn't be taking "bad contracts". But there are plenty of teams with players on fair contracts they need to move for cap reasons. Sens should only take on modest contract...short term contracts, and for players that don't mind being on poor Senator team for a year or two.

Otherwise they're going to have to fill roster spots by rushing their young prospects, and that's not smart.

Vancouver declines. If they wanted to they would have extended Hutton a QO but they weren't willing to pay him so I doubt they'll want to pay Ceci.

They should be taking contracts with a higher cap hit then actual salary given their finances and wanting to make sure they are well over the floor for the right price of draft pics. Even if it means using a buyout. I know the owner is trash, but considering they wont be a playoff team they should use cap space to expidite their rebuild.
