Zaitsev trade

Created by: NR1203
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2019
Published: Jun. 29, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't know what to think about the reported Zaitsev trade. I guess the Leafs want to give Ceci a shot for a year, see how he does on a good team, and then make a decision long-term. It could be better, but also could be worse.

Liljegren goes down to the Marlies after Dermott returns, unless he impresses enough to warrant keeping him.

The minimum Ceci will accept is 4.3M, that’s his qualifying offer. If he gets offered lower than that then he will just accept the QO.

If that's the case I'm betting the Leafs let him go somewhere else.

Qualifying offer was already issued, he still has the option to take it

Ya seems fair but I dont like it, Im higher on Brown. Our best pk forward on an already dreadful PK group. I dont think moving a guy who wants to be here in a move like that helps much. Plus I have next to zero interest in puljujarvi, just not enough room for need. Probably a good piece but Id rather keep the picks and use our own AHL talent

But Brown isn't good at much else.. I think the Leafs could replace him and give Puljujarvi another shot at his career. As well, the positional need for RHD is higher than winger right now in the org. Especially seeing the way Dylan Strome rejuvenated after getting traded to Chicago, I think that Puljujarvi, as a former 4th overall pick, is a shot worth taking at that price. It could work out really well.
