Lemieux's exactly the type of player they can use both on and off the ice .
marketing Brendan Lemieux in PIT would be super easy and profitable

We dont need any young ish centers we have plenty and the rangers clearly wanted lemieux and what he brings for a reason so I doubt they trade him especially to a divisional rival

NYR settled for Lemieux but their target according to Elliott Friedman and Bob Mckenzie was always the Young Center Roslovic .

in the end they used that 1st to land a top line young RD in Trouba who was the real Prize from the whole sage.
Lemieux's great dont get me wrong , i love him but if all NYR wanted was Lemieux and a 1st the deal wouldnt have been drug out to the end of Feburary .

If NYR can turn the return form Hayes into :
Trouba , Bjugstad ,Johnson , ZAR and a conditional 2nd that could become a 1st

then i think they're happy knowing they can play and flip Johnson and Bjugstad during the remaining years of the Rebuild .
use Trouba and ZAR for years and still have a Pick to play with
