Description
Tanev is really the best option in terms of AAV. If you lock down the third line with Hagelin - Eller - Tanev for the next four years, I'm sure you could do much worse. That's a solid, defensive line. They're not going to score a ton, but Tanev is much more physical and defensively responsible than Connolly was. You'll take a tip in offensive output, but Tanev's role was a lot different than Connolly's role was.

Another interesting player could be Hartman, but I don't know if he's on the radar.

If this is the opening night roster, I think the TDL would address the fourth line.

It's either FA, or GMBM will flip the picks we got in the Bura trade to acquire a 3RW.

Tanev is a hard guy to nail down, AVV wise. I've seen anywhere from 1.75 to 3.5 million. I think your ballpark is about realistic.

I personally would love Tanev. He is one of the most tenacious forwards in the league and he has elite speed. A Hagelin-Eller-Tanev line may not score a lot, but it's going to terrorize people with that speed on the wings. Pretty nasty if you ask me.

You don't have to read between the lines much with GMBM. If he says he wants a two-way forward for the 3RW spot, he's going to aggressively pursue that. As a long as it doesn't turn nuts with bidding, Tanev is probably the guy.

Agree that Tanev or Hartman would be good choices for that 3RW spot. Josh Archiblad could be back-up option, but I wonder why Coytoes didn't qualify him after having a breakthrough in 2018/19? Ryan Carpenter is another, who also can take faceoffs if necessary, though I would rather have him in a fourth line role than a 3RW. Looking forward to July 1st.
