You're getting rid of cap space, getting a RHD. I originally had a lottery protected first in there too.

edmonton needs quality wingers and goaltending first and foremost. Centre depth and depth on defence are actually now strong points in edmonton. If nuge was traded for a high quality winger I'd be down for a deal but, for a dman? i just don't see the logic behind it given that within 2 years edmonton will have jones, samorukov, persson, and bouchard attempting to crack the lineup/ make the top 4 ( and broberg if he plays in the OHL this year). plus ristolainen's metrics just don't look to great

Thanks for taking the time and the effort to post this team in order for us to make a few comments. It is very much appreciated..... I have a few general comments:

1. How about you swap the Arizona 2nd Rd in 21 with the Sabres 2nd in 21 in the Florida deal for Hoffman. Best to try and keep original round picks just in case you want to offer sheet a player;
2. I think you are light on the Edmonton trade. I think you would need to make that at least a 2nd round pick (you may have to go lottery protected 1st round pick in 2020) in addition to the 3rd round pick;
3. I really like that Arizona deal. Arizona is going to have to shed a bit of salary as they will need to sign RFA Crouse.... I would even consider taking on another cap hit such as Grabner (assuming Arizona is looking to move that much cap) then have the Yotes add a young minors player at the Center position plus an additional pick. I like the deal you have in place but I also see a possibility of it being a bit larger;

Sorry hit the reply button before I was finished:

4. I really like that Brian Boyle signing as he would be ideal on the sheet of ice as well as in the room;
5. The Jordie Benn signing I would say is not necessary.... you can use Hunwick in place for the first few weeks until Pilut is ready to go;
6. Instead of the Edmonton deal which I think is not possible you sign Donskoi or Connolly even if you have to overpay by $250,000 to $500,000 it will not be as costly as RNH. Though you do get Risto back on the team (not sure if your foundational aspect of this team was to move Risto);
