Guess he didnt want to stay in Montreal, because they signed Kulak at 3 x1,75. They most likely offered him the same contract. He saves 77k in taxes by going to VAN so this isnt a factor either.

Great low risk signing. Wouldve been happy if the Nucks resigned Schenn as their 6th/7th dman- but Benn on the bottom pair at $2m per- is even better.
Some much needed sandpaper on the backend for the Nucks.

MB offered him 2x2M, he said it himself in an interview, Benn just wanted to go back home.
