I think this makes a lot more sense then the other two contracts coming out of CBJ today.
Bob's contract is a nightmare, no way around it.
MD contract is was a time bomb waiting to explode.

Panarin could probably play well into his 30s. The last two years are a bit risky. 33-34 years.
It's possible he can still play at that age. But I doubt you will be getting an 11.6 million cap hit worth out of him.

Ridiculous overpayment for a player who's never hit 90 points, let alone 100.

This guy is like a 160 pounds when he got traded for Saad... Rangers had a lot of help from NHL but can even that keep this guy healthy or producing wink? Islanders dodged a bullet since he would have been another Yashin for them... Should be interesting to see how this pans out, he sure got bread for being nothing special in my book. Nobody wins paying a player over 10/11% of current cap unless count fantasy hockey... Rangers will be really rebuilding in a few years from contracts like this and the gem Shattenkirk one wink.
