I like the signing for the most part as its super cheap and offers almost no cap restrictions because he can be waived and comes off the books. I do not understand the 3rd year though.

This would have been better as a 2 year deal but such low term makes this contract extremely movable for a dependable 4th line guy who drives possession and will chip in some offense.
