That's a bad, bad contract. They just drafted Spencer Knight 13th overall and then proceed to sign a starting goalie for 7 years. OOF
Price's contract is bad too, Spencer Knight won't be ready for another 3-4 Years, and by that time Bobrovsky will be well out of his prime, but Bobrovsky still good for mentoring a kid. So kind of worth it.

So when Spencer is ready in 3-4 years, you are going to have Bob be a backup for 3 years at 10 Million? You don't draft a goalie 13th overall if he isn't a special breed of goalie. I expect him ready in 2 years. Atleast Price has proven he still has it. We haven't seen Vezina Bob in 2 years.

So $30M to be a good teammate??? Sounds expensive.

Has Price ever won a cup? Exactly a Goalie made of Glass and Duct tape doesn't make him worth 10.5M

the extra 10M on the backside can be traded, as you see NMC Clause is gone after the first 5 years...which means they seem to think Spencer Knight is a few years out.
I thought someone like Varlamov or Lehner was a better fit for them, given that they drafted Spencer Knight. But he definitely improves their team right now, which may ultimately be why they went all in on this now. It also allows them to be more patient with Knight, but I'm still not a huge fan of it.
