Scored 31 goals in the AHL last year as a 24 Year Old. Why didn't Washington qualify this guy?

How was this guy available? Only 25 years old. WSH left him unqualified?

Good for the Habs!

There are a few younger players that signed for minimum or slightly more that still have some upside. Barber is one of them. Could be a steal, and at the minimum there is zero risk for the Habs

He was a ufa? He wanted to get out of Washington to a team he could get a chance in the nhl.

I'm pretty sure his chances of making the NHL were higher on Washington than they were on Montreal. Montreal has like 16-17 guys vying for a spots on the 12 forward spots. Washington has 14 guys vying for those 12 spots.

Caps pissed him off imo. They called Stephenson up over him and he was clearly the better player. He would have went to the khl over DC ha
