Vancouver still owes him 13M real cash over the next 3 years. He is going to collect every dime of that. no reason to retire and void the rest of the money for no reason.

I do not believe he will want to be in Utica so would prefer going back to Sweden.

What a waste giving Connor all that money and wasting all those picks. Can't you find 10m to spend constructively, and keep the picks? Flames say no, and Ericsson likes money.

would be a terrible look for a franchise that is rebuilding to send a guy halfway into his deal to ahl. would show free agents they dont care about you as a person only at the professional level.

Canucks can't make that offer sheet, they don't have the necessary compensation. You can't choose which picks you'll give, and rn, both their 2020 1st and 2021 1st are locked up in Tampa as part of the condition to the Miller trade. Even if they'd offer sheet for one 1st, they still can't do it, because their 2020 1st cannot be moved at the moment.

Doesn't matter how much someone makes and that they chose to come to your organization over another. If they are not able to make a spot for themselves on the roster then where are they going to go? The minors.
This has nothing to do with not caring about anyone as a person. Everyone knows sports are a business and these guys get paid great money to do something they love. If you cannot keep up with the level of play then what is your purpose on being on the Ice over someone that does it better than you? That's just the way things are.

You're wrong its 2 first rounders in 2 of the 3 years. So yes they can hence why Capfriendly allowed it to go through. These guys are on top of it.

So they look like an crapbag franchise and only save 1.075m in cap for the next 3 years burying him in the AHL. He just plays easy games in the AHL at the point. STILL OWED 13 Million. he will not retire or go back to sweden when he is owed that much money.

Yep Canucks wont be signing any offer sheets as they arent allowed to for anything more than a 2nd.

Its not out of the realm of possibility he retires.. But It may not be for another season or two. His salary is only 1M in that final year. May leave that on the table to make more in Europe after his bonus is payed out on July 1st.

What for? Some scraps left over in FA? Canucks don't really have pieces they can trade to bring in a top 6. Maybe Vegas with Reilly but that's highly doubtful. They have stocked their Cupboards and now it is time to start going after it. No use wasting away like Edmonton is doing with McDavid and Drai.... The bottom 6 is filled out, the goalie situation is filled now it is time to get that one guy in the top 6 to put them over the top to start competing for a top 3 in the division.

They can offer anything less than 4.2 for 5 years and roughly more than 8 for 5-6 years. The only one they will not be able to do is the 1st and 3rd and the 1st 2nd and 3rd offer sheets

Just checked the CBA, you're right, I wasn't aware of the condition about 2 picks in the same round

As great as shipping him to the farm team would be, Loui can't be moved down to Utica can he? He's got a NMC not a NTC.
