Was previously reported that Penguins had interest in Puljujarvi but the ask was Rust which GMJR did not want to part with. Now that they've signed Tanev, it seems like it might be to dump Rust's contract. Edmonton also gets a young, NHL ready goalie in this trade.

Not too sure if Ottawa has made the cap floor yet, but taking on Johnsons contract for nothing also gets them a once Hobey Baker finalist in Aston-Reese, who is only 24.

I've seen that the Penguins have interest in Gusev, Vegas doesn't have the cap space to sign him, which means they can't get players back for him, they're in a bind so would have to deal for low return.
