rumor is marner turned down 8 years 11 mil. 5 years at 9.7 aav seems like a worse deal.

Where did you see this? I havnt heard anything remotely close to this.

The last rumor I saw was him declining an 8 year $9M AAV deal IN MARCH

EDIT: I think I found the article you saw. It says that Friedman THINKS Marner WOULD turn down an 8 year $11M AAV contract. Not because the AAV is low but because he wants a shorter deal like Matthews. It is entirely speculation, and even then isnt saying he wants more than $11M

I think a 2-3 year deal in the $8.5-9.5 AAV range is probably what will happen

8 x 9M was last Summer from Marners Camp, the Burke came out with 8 x 10M from TML

Thought Cody was an RFA and they could take him to arbitration then walk away. Didn't see yet if they offered him a new contract.

They can only walk away if the arb comes back higher than $4.57M (approximately). If it comes back between $3.7M and $4.57M then they have to accept
